1. Where did you grow up?
I moved around a lot growing up.  I consider Slatington, PA (outside of Allentown) where I grew up.  I lived there from about since about 2 years old through 6th grade.  Then we moved to Moscow, PA (outside of Scranton) for about 2 years.  Then I attended and graduated high school in Wallingford, PA (outside of Philly).

2. What is your athletic background?
I played softball since I was 10 years old through high school. I also played basketball growing up but gave that up after freshman year of high school.

3. How did you get started with CrossFit?
When I got engaged I wanted to lose weight so I started personal training. My trainer turned his gym into a crossfit box. I was addicted to all the PRs in the beginning and doing movements that I never thought I could actually do.  I started there probably in 2011.

4. How long have you been at CrossFit 717?
I believe I came to 717 in 2013. My sister, Sharon Moleski, and I did a drop in class and we were hooked. I remember we did back squats and deadlifts that day. We were impressed with how big 717 was and what it offered.

5. What is your favorite type of CrossFit workout (ex: AMRAP, EMOM, Chipper, etc.)?
I am a fan of a chipper.  I am a fan of going a nice steady pace all through out the work out.  Usually when you read those WODs they are intimidating but when you finish them you can really feel a sense of accomplishment.

6. What exercises/WODs do you dislike?
I hate pull ups because I cannot do them. Perhaps one day…. I am not a fan of AMRAPs due to the fact that it just gets boring by repeating the same movements.  I also hate workouts with a zillion wallballs and prowler pushes.  They are evil!

7. What is your proudest CrossFit moment?
I can’t pinpoint the proudest moment. However, if I look back at this year, I had my son on 7/5/16 so a year later I am almost back to the same level fitness from before I was pregnant. I am super proud of this! Working out after having my son was physically hard. I never felt so out of shape.  Although I felt that it took awhile to get back in shape, I believe that today I am farther along than I thought I would be.  Yay!

8. What is your biggest goal in life?
All my goals to this point have been career oriented.  Pass the CPA exam (check), get my CPA license (check), become Manager in public accounting (check), manage my own clients (check), move up the ladder at my current job (check).  Clearly I am type A.  When I became a mom my goals changed.  My goal is to do what I can to give my son the best and happy life he can have and to teach him with hard work the sky is truly the limit. Also be the best mom I can be! He deserves it!

9. Where did you go to high school/college?
I went to Strath Haven High School in Wallingford Swarthmore School District in  the suburbs of Philly. I graduated college from Bloomsburg University with a degree in accounting and a concentration in fraud examination.

10. What is your current occupation?
I am a CPA and work at the PA Department of Revenue. I work for an enforcement bureau that examines partnership and S-corp returns. It probably sounds greek to many of you. To put it another way, I am a tax geek.

11. Who is your favorite CrossFit Athlete?
My sister 🙂 Sharon! I started crossfit and got her interested. Believe it or not I use to be the strong one. She has clearly surpassed me and is the strong sister. She is an inspiration to me because she can do every move I cannot. She is my swole mate (somehow) but she pushes me (or tries to kill me) when we workout together.  I am proud of all she has done and continues to do! I am a proud big sister, what can I say!

12. What is your favorite movie and why?
I am sure not what my ultimate favorite is.  To answer the question I would say Meet Joe Black because of this quote:

“Love is passion, obsession, someone you can’t live without. If you don’t start with that, what are you going to end up with? Fall head over heels. I say find someone you can love like crazy and who’ll love you the same way back. And how do you find him? Forget your head and listen to your heart. I’m not hearing any heart. Run the risk, if you get hurt, you’ll come back. Because, the truth is there is no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love – well, you haven’t lived a life at all. You have to try. Because if you haven’t tried, you haven’t lived.”

13. What is your favorite thing about CrossFit 717?
The people and the community.  Everyone is willing to help.  I greatly appreciated the meal train meals after having my son. It helped so much!

14. What is your biggest pet peeve?
I have little patience for people who are unorganized or do not have it together. I also hate slow drivers. Please get out of my way!

15. What is one thing you have never done that we would be surprised about?
I am not creative to answer this question. I have never been to Europe.

16. Where is your favorite place that you have traveled to?
Aruba! My husband and I went there for our honeymoon.  It is perfect weather all year around. I would live there in a heartbeat!

17. What would you say is your worst personality trait and why?
I am a perfectionist who hates to make a mistake.  I am hard on myself when I do. However, this trait makes me the hard working person I am.

18. Did you or do you have a nickname?  What’s the story behind it?
No nickname. My name is shortened to Sandj by Sharon.

19. What is your favorite genre of music to workout to?  What are your top 3 workout songs?
I like anything upbeat.  Usually Top 40.   I cannot name 3 songs because usually the songs I like become overplayed and then I don’t like them anymore.

20. Who has been the biggest influence on your life?
My parent–they have instilled a strong work ethic in me. They both came from families who had very little and gave my sisters and I a great childhood with many opportunities. I learned later in life that anything is possible when you put your mind to it. I think that is a phrase you don’t understand the meaning until you live it and do it.

21. What do you feel is the most important invention in the past 100 years and why?
I think the most important invention is the computer.  It has evolved business and how it is done.  The computer concept is always changing either to to ipads and cell phones but without it you would not be reading this right now.

22. What are your hobbies and interests outside of the box?
I spend most of my free time with my son and my husband.  I enjoy family! I enjoy being outside in nice weather– hiking, running, walking, currently playing in the grass with my almost one year old!  Current hobby: being a good Mom!
